Spelling Bee update

We arrived at the district spelling bee very early, as you can see. Evan was only a little bit nervous. Nevertheless, as the auditorium filled the butterflies moved with more excitement!

Waiting was very difficult.

After 2.5 hours of spelling words in three rounds of 72 students grades 4-8 Evan's last word (round 3) was "analgesia".
An extremely full bladder, empty stomach and no sight in end caused his
brain to exchange the "g" for a relieving "j".
That one "slip" earned him a potty break, pie at Marie Calendars and not more spelling.
Not only did he do a wonderful job of spelling but he also did a terrific job reasoning!

We are very proud of our 4th grade academic!!

Our b-day boy is 3!

Evan was 1 of 20 student from 4-6 grades who competed in his school Spelling Bee.

He was front and center. He wasn't nervous at all.

Checking with the judges. . .

Booya! First time a 4th grader has ever won in the 20 year history of the school.
Districts, here we come!

FUN at the Factory

Each of the kiddos got to design their very own cars. We had a firetruck, caterpillar, police car, futuristic car, and a turtle.
THANKS JIM!

We had a great time at "The Happy Factory".
Yes, I am proficient at messing these up.

Christmas Eve dinner preparations.

Yummy food, wonderful conversation, good times!

For some of us it took too long.

We spent Christmas with Grandma & Jim. We had a blast. As you can see, we didn't want for anything! Thanks Mom!
